Tom Hanks is kicking off 2016’s unofficial fall awards season today with Sully, Clint Eastwood’s drama about Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, the US Airways pilot who successfully landed a crippled passenger plane on the Hudson River in 2009. Now, the real-life Sully is returning the favor by paying tribute to the Oscar-winning actor — albeit in a far more ridiculous fashion.

While appearing alongside Hanks as a guest on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Sully debuted a trailer for his own biopic of the star. The project, dubbed Hanks, spans its subject’s career, from his maiden audition, to his hits Forest Gump, Cast Away and Apollo 13. And to further enhance its tongue-in-cheek humor, it even includes an appearance by Hanks’s old Bosom Buddies sitcom partner Peter Scolari. Unsurprisingly, the always game Hanks seemed unfazed by this gentle mockery — perhaps because he is, per the spoof, a “cocky son of a bitch.”

With Hanks already receiving raves for his lead turn in Eastwood’s latest, an amusing promo clip like this can only help his film’s fortunes at the box office. You can watch Sully’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! bit above, while the movie Sully is in theaters starting today.
