The Internet Is Convinced This Chinese Airport Terminal Looks Like Something Very Rude

Does this airport terminal remind you of anything?

Designed by the late Iraqi-born British architect Zaha Hadid, the concept certainly stays true to her name as the ‘queen of the curve’.

But web users in China, where the airport is to be built, are not impressed.

Hadid’s stunning building design has almost no straight lines – but is embarrassingly being compared to a vagina as a result.

Those sharing the concept photos of the new Beijing Daxing International Airport are outraged by the design – and are taking the chance to ridicule Hadid, who passed away from a heart attack at the end of March this year, aged 65.

While the project is still a few years away from completion – with the current date set in September 2019 – web users are wondering if none of the architects on the design team managed to spot the glaring resemblance.

One illustration has been posted online that shows the outline of a woman, with the centre of the airport as her privates.

People have suggested it complements the People’s Daily building (CEN)

Such is the idea behind concept art, the designers will have plenty of time to tweak the details in the next few years, if they wish.

Reports said the new Daxing airport will have seven runways, capable of handling an annual passenger flow of around 100 million. It will also cover a massive area of 6,600 acres.

One user questioned whether the design was intended to “seduce the People’s Daily building”, which resembled a penis when it was being built.
