The Giving Tree
Katie gets a little help with her design from painter's tape for her design.
Have you got a forgotten old fence all lonely in the back yard? Does it need a lovely tree to bring it back into the fold? Plant a live one and it’ll take years. Paint one like ours and it only takes minutes!
The finished product!
Materials:
Painter’s masking tape
Quart of exterior paint- we like black
Paint brush
Instructions:
Tape off the shape of a tree - beginning with the tree trunk and then branching out.
Paint between the lines, be careful not to go over the tape onto the rest of the fence.
Let dry and peel off the tape.
Hints:
Stand back now and then when you are laying down your tape lines so you can see how big your tree is getting. It’s like making a coloring book drawing to fill in. Straight lines will give it a cool edgy look, and if you bend the tape you will get rounder more traditional ‘branches’.
