You know what they say: you can’t terraform an omelet without cracking a few cage-free xenomorph eggs. Silicon Valley, which just wrapped its second season on HBO, skewers the tech sector (and its overheated sense of entitlement) in a way that no other show currently does. I’ve professed my love for all things 8-bit and feline in this space previously, so the combination of the two was naturally going to pique my interest. Behold, then, Nom Cat, an addictive new retro game for mobile devices that pits famous Internet cats against one another in a button-mashing, fish-eating contest. The game includes nearly 50 playable characters, including A-listers like Grumpy Cat, Nyan Cat, and Keyboard Cat, all of whom were added during a recent update. Seeing as there’s no cost to download, it’s basically the purrfect addition to your phone.
8-bit Tie — $19.99
Speaking of pixelated fashions, this jaggy-edged, 8-bit tie is a must for anyone bored with traditional neckwear. Marrying form and function, the clip-on design runs 20” in length, an ideal length for human video gamers of all ages and sizes. (Remember friends: binary code > binary gender roles.)
Cyberdyne Systems Logo Coffee Mug — $14.99
If the new Terminator reboot — the curiously stylized Genisys — left you wistful for the James Cameron classics, drown your sorrows with this coffee mug emblazoned with the Cyberdyne Systems logo (aka Skynet’s Dad). To be honest, this Ant-Man Lego set (183 pieces, including some at scale relative to the characters and their suit-shrinking powers) looks a bit underwhelming (no pun intendo), but the titular minifig is so cool that offsets any other complaints. Don't forget: the last installment of Marvel's Phase 2 is in theaters now!
The Dude Vinyl Figure — $12.50
Forget the rug, it’s this Big Lebowski vinyl figure that will really tie your collection of Funko Pop characters together. The Dude’s likeness is recreated with expert detailing true to the film: note his signature sunglasses, cardigan, and sandals, all with a cup of coffee (or is that a White Russian?) in his hand.
