Creators of 'Texts From Hillary' Declare the End of the Meme

In a blazing fire of glory, the two guys behind the epically viral "Texts from Hillary Clinton" blog have announced that they're done ignoring their day jobs and will cease posting to the site, but that doesn't mean you can't carry on the snarky flame. They write: "As far as memes go – it has gone as far as it can go. Is it really possible to top a submission from the Secretary herself? No. [More on that here] But then when you get to text with her in real life – it’s just over. At least for us. But we have no doubt it will live on with all of you on the Internet."

This feels too early, to us. Sure, in internet years, this week-old blog is older than the State Department. But in real person years, it was just getting started, It is, after all, the dedicated subject of Maureen Dowd's New York Times column today, which means that millions of Clinton-loving moms who read The Dowd but missed out were just about to discover the blog (and post it to your Facebook wall, because, yes, the only thing your Maureen Dowd-reading mom wanted for Christmas was your Facebook friendship.)

But, as we're certain you'll instruct your mother after informing her of this disappointing news, memes never die as long as someone out there keeps appending new text to them. (See above.) So get to it, you little would-be-Hillarys.
