Texas Tech University hosts 2024 Match Day Friday at Hodgetown
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine hosts its 2024 Match Day on Friday, March 15 beginning at 10:45 a.m. For the first time, the event is being held at Hodgetown, located at 715 S. Buchanan St.
Beginning at 11 a.m., medical students from across the nation, as a part of TTUHSC, will open their envelopes simultaneously, revealing matching assignments and, depending on their specialty, their residency for the next three to seven years with the hospitals that choose them.
According to TTUHSC, Match Day has been an annual event for graduating medical students for their residency programs since 1952.
Last year, TTUHSC medical students from Amarillo matched at residency programs across the country, including TTUHSC, Baylor College of Medicine, University of Texas Medical School, LSU School of Medicine, Duke University Medical Center, Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education, University of Massachusetts Chan School of Medicine, Stony Brook Teaching Hospitals, Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania and many others.
For the opening of the envelopes, the TTUHSC School of Medicine administration will share a few words, followed by student, staff and family photo opportunities.
For more information about the upcoming day, follow TTUHSC on their socials.
