Texas Teacher Admits Sex with Student She Met at Chick-fil-A

A Texas history teacher has been arrested and charged with sexual assault with a former male student after meeting up at a local Chick-fil-A restaurant, PEOPLE confirms.

Michelle Schiffer, 23, has been charged with having an improper relationship with a student, now 16, and sexual assault of a child, court records show.

Schiffer appeared in court Wednesday to face her charges. A judge set bond at $30,000, which Schiffer posted later that day, court records show.

The judge also told Schiffer that she is not to have contact with anyone under the age of 18. It was not immediately clear if she has entered a plea or retained an attorney.

Schiffer allegedly told authorities that she met the student, who was 15 at the time, at the fast food restaurant before they went to a friend’s house to have sex, court records show, according to Click 2 Houston.

The student told police Schiffer picked him up once at a park, and then they allegedly drove around the neighborhood before having sex in a parking lot, local TV station CW39 reports.

Court records show she and the student allegedly had sex multiple times over the summer, CW39 reports.

Schiffer teaches world history at Cypress Springs High School in Cypress.

She also allegedly admitted that she smoked marijuana with the student in her vehicle, Click 2 Houston reports.

An anonymous student reported the alleged situation to the Cypress Springs High School principal on Nov. 10, according to court documents, CW39 reports.

The anonymous student told the principal that the male student allegedly admitted that he had had a sexual relationship with the teacher, according to court documents.

The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District said in a statement that Schiffer was immediately removed from campus and placed on administrative leave once they learned of the charges.

“We will continue to protect our students and not tolerate relationships of an inappropriate nature,” the statement said.
