Texas man, accused of intentionally starting fires, granted unsecured bond

Oct. 30—WALSH COUNTY — A Texas man accused of starting fires at the Leistikow Park in Grafton

was granted an unsecured bond and will not be held in custody as the case progresses.

Garret Riley Pace, 18, is charged with Class C felony endangering by fire. Officers were dispatched to the park on Sept. 21, where they spoke with Pace, who admitted to starting fires in the men's and women's restrooms, according to the criminal complaint.

Pace's initial appearance was held at the Walsh County Courthouse on Monday morning, Oct. 30. During the hearing, Pace was granted a $5,000 appearance bond. He was not in custody and will not have to pay unless he violates bond conditions.

His next court appearance, a preliminary hearing and arraignment, is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 22.
