Texas DPS IDs Seminole teen killed in Gaines County crash

A teenager from Seminole was killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Gaines County.

David Rosalez, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that was reported about 9:40 p.m. on U.S. Highway 62 near County Road 237, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Investigators believe he was driving a 2023 Kia Forte east on U.S. 62 when it veered off the roadway to the south. He took evasive action, however the vehicle struck a culvert in the barrow ditch and then a utility pole.

Other factors contributing to the crash were unclear as the investigation is ongoing.
