Teradata board OKs $300 million increase to stock buyback plan, brings total to $381 million

NEW YORK (AP) -- Teradata Corp. said Monday that its board approved a $300 million increase in its share repurchase authorization, bringing the total available for share repurchases to $381 million.

The Atlanta company, which helps financial, marketing and other companies store and analyze data, said the new authorization expires Jan. 20, 2015.

The company has bought 4.3 million of its own shares this year, mainly in the fourth quarter.

Shares of Teradata rose 44 cents to close at $58.63. Over the past 52 weeks the stock has traded between $43.77 and $80.97.
