- Critics of Maria Sharapova possibly receiving a wildcard into the French Open just want to keep another title threat out of Roland Garros, the Russian's agent said in a report Friday. Sharapova is set to return next week from a 15-month doping ban. She is expected to learn in May if she will be able to compete at the French Open as a wildcard. Several players have said they don't believe Sharapova should be given wildcards but the Russian's agent dismissed the compliants as jealousy. "All those 'journeyman' players like (Agnieszka) Radwanska and (Caroline) Wozniacki who have never won a slam and the next generation passing them," Eisenbud said. "NO Serena, NO Maria, NO Vika, NO Petra, it's their last chance to win a slam."
