- France's Richard Gasquet will play Croatia's Borna Coric in Friday's opening Davis Cup semi-final singles rubber in Zadar. It will be the first meeting between 17th-ranked Gasquet and Coric, ranked 42, and takes place on an indoor hard court surface. US Open quarter-finalist Lucas Pouille, ranked 18, will then play 11th-ranked Croatian Marin Cilic. France have been hit by the withdrawal of their top two players -- Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga -- both with knee injuries. World number one ranked doubles pair Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert will play Croatia's Ivan Dodig and Marin Draganja on Saturday. The two countries have met once before in 2004, with France winning in Metz. The winners advance to the final against either defending champions Great Britain or Argentina who play in Glasgow.
