Tennessee softball vs Alabama NCAA super regional schedule: Game times, how to watch

Tennessee softball begins play in the NCAA super regional on Friday.

The No. 3 seed Lady Vols (43-10) host No. 14 seed Alabama (36-17) in a best-of-three series for a chance to go to the Women's College World Series. The series begins Friday (4 p.m., ESPN2) at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

Tennessee posted three shutouts in the regional, outscoring opponents 21-0 over 19 innings. Alabama also won three straight. Both teams recorded run-rule wins, UT beating Virginia 12-0 in five innings Saturday and Alabama beating Southeastern Louisiana 12-2 in five innings Sunday.

Both the Lady Vols and Crimson Tide made it to the WCWS last season. They faced each other in the first round, and Tennessee won 10-5.

UT won the series against Alabama on the road during the regular season. The Lady Vols won the first two games by scores of 5-0 and 2-0 before dropping the final game 1-0.
