Ten things to do in central Arkansas this weekend (March 15-17)

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – This St. Patrick’s Day weekend there is lots going on in the Natural State including bar crawls, bull riding, dinosaur adventures and the world’s shortest St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Happening Friday and Saturday night is PBR: Unleash The Beast 2024 at Simmons Bank Arena. See some of the top bull riders in the world compete in the Natural State. Tickets start at $19 and doors open at 6:15 p.m. Friday and 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

Former Dallas Cowboys star Emmitt Smith named as celebrity grand marshal for Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Saturday morning, the Little Rock Zoo debuts their brand new Dragon Kingdom exhibition. Visitors will come face-to-face with dragons that mirror characteristics of enormous lizards, snakes, and other creatures. Tickets are $12.95 and the exhibition runs until Sept. 28.

Also happening Saturday morning is the Spring Canoe Float at Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Visitors will meet at the Little Maumelle River Boat Ramp, West Summit Parking Lot between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and get to drift past breathtaking shoreline, enjoy beautiful views of the mountain only seen from the water.

Saturday afternoon, Bark Bar hosts the Official Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl. Tickets are $10 and come with 2-3 drinks or shots included, a US Stadium party cup, a keychain, badge, beads and much more.

On Saturday afternoon in North Little Rock, there will be a Luck of the Irish Pop Up Shop. Happening from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., visitors can shop from various vendors including jerk seasoning, beaded jewelry, herbal salves, women’s clothing, books and much more.

World’s shortest wedding ceremony set for Hot Springs St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Happening Saturday, The Hall hosts an Arkansas country music showcase featuring Tyler Kinch, Midnight South and Josie Hargis. Three of the hottest country acts in the Natural State will take the stage and tickets are only $15; doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday morning, the Arkansas State Fairgrounds will host Dinosaur Adventure Little Rock 2024. Dinosaur Adventure is a one-of-a-kind exhibit featuring realistic, life-sized dinosaurs that come alive with their life-like movement and roars. The event runs from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday and tickets start at $26.

On Sunday, Hot Springs will host the First Ever 21st Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Bridge Street. The 98 foot long parade features Dallas Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith as Grand Marshal, Parade Starter Forrie J. Smith. There will also be live music and much more.

Also happening Sunday is the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Rusty Tractor Vineyards. Running from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m., the event is free to attend and dog-friendly. There will be bloody mary’s, mimosas, beer, wine and much more available.

Hot Springs responds to Rhode Island town’s claim to World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade

On Sunday night, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in North Little Rock will hold their Festival of the Senses: Two Romantics. Violin, cello and piano take the stage from 7 until 9 p.m.
