Temporary traffic changes expected during construction at JEB Little Creek
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Construction at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek is expected to cause temporary changes to traffic patterns.
From April 1 through May 3, Gate 3, located at Shore Drive and North Shores Road, will be closed due to the construction. During construction, motorists will have to use Gate 1 or Gate 5 to enter and exit the base.
Gate 2 will be available to exit from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m.
“The automated vehicle barrier replacement is vital to force protection, but we understand it may impact traffic for our neighbors in and around Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek,” Commanding Officer Capt. David Gray said. “We have worked closely with city officials to minimize the impact on commuters and will continue to do so through the duration of the project.”
During construction, Gate 3 will still be open for normal business.
