Temporary closure in place on portion of Forest Road 25

May 24—Forest Road 25 within the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District will be temporarily closed to motorized vehicle traffic between mileposts 13.7 and 15.

The closure will last for approximately three weeks due to timber harvest and commercial hauling traffic. The closure to allow for safe timber harvest operations is scheduled from May 28 until June 21 but might end sooner if the harvest is completed. The closure area is located northeast of Mount St. Helens.

This temporary closure is needed to complete project work and ensure a safe work environment for everyone, according to the U.S. Forest Service. Barricades will be erected at the closed section of road.

"For your safety, visitors are asked to respect closures and to recreate in other areas during closure periods," the Forest Service stated.
