Temperatures closer to normal Saturday, followed by dreary Sunday

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — It was a stormy end to the week for some neighborhoods with a cold front approaching from the west.

Scattered downpours and a few severe storms popped up as temperatures warmed up into the 80s again. After Friday, we’re saying goodbye to the 80s for at least a little while. We’ve got some cooler air coming in for the weekend!

The front will push to our south on Saturday, so the day will be mostly dry. There’s a small chance that another shower or storm could pop up, mainly south and east of Charlotte, but don’t cancel any outside plans over it. It won’t be quite as warm, as highs only top out in the mid- to upper-70s.

Sunday is the day to plan for some rain, especially in the afternoon and evening. That goes for you, Charlotte FC fans! Dress for much cooler temperatures, too! It’s looking like temps will hover in the 50s all day, with 40s in the mountains — a shock to the system after this week’s heat.

Tonight: Variably cloudy with a few lingering showers. Low 63.

Saturday: Partly cloudy. Small shower/storm chance. High 78.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy and much cooler. Showers moving in. 54/59.
