Some telemarketers targeting phone numbers on ‘Do Not Call’ list: experts

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Some telemarketers are targeting phone numbers on the national “Do Not Call” registry because people are more likely to pick up, experts said.

The registry currently has 221 million phone numbers. There are loopholes for legitimate companies to call people on the list, according to experts.

There is a $50,000 fine for violations. If you really want fewer spam calls, the FTC recommends using call-screening apps.
