Tehachapi DJ convicted of molesting 4 children

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Tehachapi DJ was found guilty this week of sexually abusing four children.

Roy Kirk, 62, molested the children, whose ages ranged from 5 to 11, after becoming friendly with their parents, according to the District Attorney’s Office. The abuse occurred from 2004 to 2012, prosecutors said.

Kirk faces up to 100 years to life in prison. A sentencing date has not been set.

The first allegation, made to Tehachapi police in 2009, went uninvestigated, prosecutors said.

A second victim reported abuse to a school aide in 2016. Kirk was arrested and has remained in custody since June 2017, after which a third and fourth victim were found, prosecutors said.
