Teenager slain in San Francisco Hallidie Plaza identified

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A teenager who was shot to death in Hallidie Plaza was identified by the San Francisco Chief Medical Examiner Wednesday as 17-year-old Jordan Malik Brady.

Brady was an Alameda County resident. Police said the boy was slain just before 9:30 p.m. on March 28. Officers found Brady suffering from gunshot wounds in the plaza, which is located next to the Powell Street BART station in the Tenderloin neighborhood.

Brady was pronounced dead at the scene and the coroner’s office notified his family.

A GoFundMe page described the victim as a cherished “bright light” in his family of 10. “His infectious laughter, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family touched the hearts of everyone he encountered. Sadly, Jordan’s life was cut short due to unforeseen circumstances, leaving behind a family of ten to navigate through the unbearable pain of his absence,” the page states.

Two 16-year-old boys were arrested in connection to the homicide. San Francisco Police Department officers served a search warrant at a building on Turk Street, arrested the boys, and booked them into the Juvenile Justice Center on Friday. Their names were not released by police because they are minors.
