Teen suspect in apartment shooting arrested in California; he’s 5th suspect in custody

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 17-year-old is in custody in El Centro, California facing murder and robbery charges in a deadly January shooting at a Las Vegas apartment complex. The teen, who was not identified due to his juvenile status, is awaiting extradition to Las Vegas, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

On Jan. 2, officers said a man was shot and killed inside an apartment on Torrey Pines Drive near Sahara Avenue. A second shooting victim was able to take himself to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting occurred when several people were inside the apartment, police said. The first arrest in the case happened on Feb. 27 when Prseyus Dennis, 18, was taken into custody. The following day, police arrested David Valle, 18, and then Juan Galvan, 19, and Javier Galvan, 20 were arrested on March 1. The 17-year-old in California was arrested on March 2.

All five are facing charges of open murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, according to court records.
