Teen shot, hospitalized in serious condition in Murray

MURRAY, Utah (ABC4) — A teenager was shot while sitting in a car in Murray Saturday night, leaving him in serious condition, according to Murray Police.

Police responded to the incident at 4500 South 500 West at around 6:20 p.m. on Mar. 2.

Three teens were sitting in a car in the parking lot of a McDonald’s, according to Kristin Reardon, Murray Police. The gun fired and one teen was hit, Reardon said. That person is reportedly in critical condition.

It is unclear at this time whether the gunshot was accidental or intentional, Reardon said.

Investigators are reportedly working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The three teens are believed to be friends, Reardon said.
