Teen fights off attempted rapist who placed her in headlock: NYPD

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – The NYPD released a sketch of a suspect who allegedly tried to rape a 15-year-old girl walking inside Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx on Saturday evening, police said.

Police from the 45th precinct responded to a call reporting the attempted rape around 5 p.m. The teen was walking on a path when an unknown attacker tried to engage her in conversation, according to police. The attacker then placed the teen in a headlock, dragged her into a wooded area, and attempted to rape her, police said.

The teen was able to fight off the assailant, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries from the attack but refused medical attention at the scene, authorities said.

The attacker is described as a man who’s believed to be 20 to 30 years old. He has a slim build, mustache, curly eyelashes, and thick eyebrows, according to authorities. He was last seen wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants, police said.
