Teen charged with murder in suburban expressway shooting

CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy was charged with murder in a deadly expressway shooting last month.

Illinois State Police responded to a report of a crash on March 16 just before 6:10 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-94 near 170th Street in Lansing.

Troopers located a driver of a blue Infiniti SUV who sustained a gunshot wound from a shooting on Route 394 northbound at Thornton Lansing Road.

The driver was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

A 17-year-old was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with first-degree murder.
