Teen charged as adult for multiple armed robberies around Bethesda

BETHESDA, Md. (DC News Now) — The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) arrested and charged a 16-year-old as an adult for his involvement in multiple armed robberies in Bethesda.

Officers arrested the teenager on Saturday after he was accused of several robberies, the first of which happened at the Tobacco Hub in the 7800 block of Old Georgetown Rd. on May 12.

MCPD said on that day, the teenager had allegedly gone into the store shortly after 2 p.m. He asked to see vape products and then took out a gun, demanding the employees give the products to him.

Later that day, at around 3:21 p.m., he went back to that same store, took out his gun again and demanded cash before leaving.
