The driver then lost control of the motorcycle and flipped, THP stated. Both the driver and the motorcycle reportedly hit the guardrail.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation’s (TDOT) SmartWay map previously showed heavy traffic delays in the area. Traffic has since been cleared and no delays are in the area.

A spokesperson for TDOT stated a medical helicopter responded to the scene.
