TDOT to permanently close I-40 exit near BNA

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will permanently close an exit along Interstate 40 near Nashville International Airport (BNA) as part of an ongoing reconstruction project of Donelson Pike.

Exit 216C on I-40 East to Donelson Pike/State Route 255 North will close permanently beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 15. The work is part of the ongoing project in Donelson to construct a new I-40 interchange and re-align Donelson Pike.

The closure and traffic shift represents a major milestone in this multi-year project, according to TDOT.

“It is massive, but it’s very exciting. I mean, this interchange is going to support a lot more traffic than the one that currently you know, we are currently on schedule, if not ahead of schedule,” explained TDOT spokesperson Rebekah Hammonds.
