Taylorville man with child sexual assault conviction accused again: Police

TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A Taylorville man previously convicted of sexually assaulting a child is under arrest for allegedly doing it again this week.

Taylorville Police Chief Dwayne Wheeler said that late Tuesday night, his department’s Detective Division started an investigation in the sexual assault of a child. Within hours, 56-year-old Bradley C. Rost was arrested for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

Wheeler revealed few details about the assault, but said the case was “very disturbing” to investigators. Rost will appear in court on Thursday for a detention hearing.

Rost was convicted in 1998 of the same offense, Wheeler said, and he received a 17-year prison sentence.
