There was a gaping Taylor Swift-shaped hole at last night's Grammy's and it was very much noticed. The singer not only didn't attend the prestigious awards ceremony but reportedly cancelled her performance of 'The Man', from her 2019 Lover album amid scandal surrounding previous CEO, Deborah Dugan.

Rehearsal schedules for the ceremony had included a "TBA" slot that was believed to be for Swift, with many speculating the it hadn't been officially announced to allow for an easy exit for Swift should she decide to cancel.

Variety reports that Swift was due to perform 'The Man' in the slot, a song with a feminist message that would have had significance given the scandal surrounding former CEO, Dugan, who was placed on leave just 10 days before the ceremony, and has since filed a lawsuit against the National Academy of Recording Artists (the organisation behind the Grammy's) alleging sexual harassment and gender discrimination. Many are speculating that Taylor's decision to skip the ceremony was down to these claims.

Many people took to Twitter to share their support for Swift, and question why she only received three nominations, far fewer than she usually gets. Meanwhile, for many her absence on the red carpet was noticed.

At least Ariana's red carpet was an absolute sensation.
