Taylor Swift Donates to Hospital That Treated Jaime King’s Baby Boy

Taylor Swift is at it again.

The generous singer, who regularly gives away chunks of her fortune to worthy causes, has made a donation to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The gift is a tribute to her godson, Leo Thames Newman, the 1-year-old son of Swift’s close friend Jaime King and her husband, Kyle Newman.

King shared a letter she received from the hospital about the donation, explaining that Cedars-Sinai had treated her son for a heart condition that only her close friends knew about.

“@taylorswift does so many selfless acts that go unnoticed because she does them silently, from such a great place of unconditional giving,” King wrote on Wednesday. “As the Godmother of Leo Thames for his birthday she gave an incredible donation to the people that saved his life Dr. Allistar Phillips and his brilliant team.”

Swift has had a particularly soft spot for Leo since the very first time she saw him, and she’s been known to talk about him in concert and just hang out with the little guy.

While she takes her role as a godmother very seriously, Swift is also known to be one of the most charitable celebs in Hollywood. She topped the DoSomething.org list of Celebs Gone Good for the fourth straight year in December 2015, thanks to $50,000 gifts to the Seattle Symphony, a fan who missed a T. Swift concert because of cancer treatment, and another pediatric cancer patient who happened to be the son of one of her backup dancers. Classrooms in New York City received 25,000 books from the singer and, most recently, people who lost their homes and businesses due to flooding in Baton Rouge, La., received $1 million.

Swift’s money managers were no doubt happy with another title she won — top-earning celeb of 2016. Between album sales, endorsement deals, and the “1989 World Tour,” Forbes estimated that Swift collected $170 million between June 2015 and June 2016.

We’re sure she’ll be continuing to spread the wealth for years to come.
