This week we learned that Taylor Swift, known for her prowess on stage and in the kitchen, made homemade Pop-Tarts for teammates of boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Now Pop-Tarts has a sweet deal for the pop star.

In full-page ad in The Kansas City Star’s Friday print edition, the maker of the popular toaster pastry addressed “KC’s most famous fan.”

“We hear you have a Pop-Tarts pastry recipe,” the company wrote. “We’re tortured not knowing more about this DIY delight. What’s the filling? Does it have frosting? Do they have little holes?

“So let’s make a deal.”

Pop-Tarts pledged to double a donation to Harvesters food bank in Kansas City “if you share (your version) of our recipe with the masses. And this time we’ll make sure coach gets a bite.

“You in?”

That last reference is to Chiefs coach Andy Reid, who spilled the beans about Swift and the DIY pastries she gave to the Chiefs’ O-line. He told NBC Sports at the NFL Combine this week that “she likes to cook, so she made the offensive linemen these homemade Pop-Tarts.

“She didn’t give me one and the offensive linemen definitely didn’t give me one.”

Swift’s fans ate up this latest testament to her prowess in the kitchen, where she created her beloved chai sugar cookie recipe. She has also baked cookies for fans invited to her secret listening sessions, and she took homemade pumpkin bread to her photo shoot for Time magazine’s Person of the Year.

“I’m picturing Travis Kelce walking in with a plastic box all ‘hey guys, Taylor sent homemade pop tarts,’” Swift fan Heather Murphy tweeted.

When did Swift find the time to bake, fans marveled.

What’s an O-line, one fan asked social media.

But the overwhelming response was like Pop-Tarts’, summed up in this cheeky tweet: “Drop the recipe blondie.

(Wait. blondies are kinda like brownies, aren’t they?)

Swift hinted that Pop-Tarts might be part of her baking repertoire a few years ago when she made a TikTok showing off things she “made.” Images of her albums and desserts flashed across the screen. Cinnamon rolls. Homemade doughnuts. Muffins bursting with fat berries.

And … homemade Pop-Tarts laid out on a cooling rack.

If Swift wasn’t in the middle of her Eras Tour right now — she begins a six-night stand in Singapore this weekend — we’re sure she would share. (And who’s to say she won’t. Does she ever sleep?)

She is generous that way. She knows of Harvesters because it is one of several charities she donated to while touring the United States last year.

The good news for all those folks who made “homemade Pop-Tarts” the top “homemade” search topic online over the last couple of days? Recipes abound online. Just search Google, click on “Images” and dozens of photos pop up.

Four years ago pastry chef Claire Saffitz spent four days in the Bon Appétit Test Kitchen creating a recipe for gourmet Pop-Tarts.

Does it have to go in the toaster, she asked her colleagues before she began.

Uh, yeah, they told her.

(Tip: Most homemade recipes are baked, not toasted. Mastering an icing that won’t melt and make a mess in a toaster is best left to the pros.)

At its core, these hand-sized pastries consist of just three things: pastry, filling and icing.

Oh, and don’t forget the sprinkles. Chef Saffitz made her own. Of course she did.

Pop-Tarts are certainly having a moment. The company — Kellanova (formerly Kellogg’s) — sponsored a college bowl game last year with arguably the best trophy ever — an oversized football with slots on the top like a toaster.

K-State bagged that prize.

This May, Netflix will release “Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story,” a docudrama based on a Jerry Seinfeld routine about how the snack made him happy as a child. He co-wrote and directed and pulled in fellow comedians Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer and Jim Gaffigan.

This is the second time in recent days Pop-Tarts has vied for Swift’s attention. After she announced her upcoming album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” the company awarded her “Best Pop Performance Hands Down” on Instagram.

Will all this attention usher in a new era for the toaster pastry?

We’ll wait to see what pops up.
