Taylor Samples wins Washington County District 2, Division 1 judge race

WASHINGTON COUNTY (KNWA/KFTA) — Taylor Samples won the March 5 election for Washington County judge against Mark N. Scalise.

According to unofficial results, Samples won with 53% of the vote.

“Probably the word that comes to mind is just very grateful and honored,” Samples said after his win Tuesday. “I’m so appreciative to the voters and the people who voted me in and put that trust in me.”

Samples is slated to take office Jan. 1, 2025, saying that date can’t come soon enough. Washington County judges serve a four-year term.

Samples said he’ll be the type of judge that serves the people.

“They’re going to get a person who on day 1 is going to jump into the job with enthusiasm and is going to be ready to work hard,” Samples said.
