TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Ricky Bishop was reelected in Tuesday night’s Primary Election to serve another 4-year term as Taylor County’s sheriff.

Stan Lambert wins Republican nomination for District 71 seat

Sheriff Bishop won by a 77% vote, beating out opponents Elias Carrasquillo and Shay Bailey.

Because Sheriff Bishop was reelected with a voting margin of more than 50%, there will not be a runoff election at the end of May.

Sheriff Bishop has served Taylor County since 2012, making this his third term.

In an interview with the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, Sheriff Bishop said he’s made great progress in his 12 years of service and has more accomplishments to come.
