Tariq Anwar assumes charge as MoS Agriculture

New Delhi, Oct 30 (ANI): Tariq Anwar took over as Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Industries here today After assuming charge, Anwar took a briefing from officers of various departments in the Ministries of Agriculture and Food Processing Industries. In his brief interaction with the media, he said, he would try his best to contribute to policy formulation and implementation in not only mainline agriculture but also allied sectors such as dairying and animal husbandry. "These sectors have an important role in overall growth of agriculture and well-being and prosperity of farmers," he added. Born in1951 at Patna, Anwar has been a parliamentarian since 1984. He has been member of a number of important parliamentary committees. He has travelled widely within India and abroad. (ANI)
