Birthday party shooting victims identified: Escambia County Sheriff’s Office

UPDATE (4/29 10:20 a.m.): Officials with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office have released the names of victims who died after being shot at a birthday party Sunday.

26-year-old Markeese Turner, 28-year-old Michael Carstarphen and 23-year-old Trashawn Powers were shot early Sunday morning in a car, according to ECSO.

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Three men are dead after a shooting at a birthday party early Sunday morning in Escambia County, Florida.

A post from the ECSO says they responded to a shooting call at 1:15 Sunday morning at a birthday party near the intersection of 65th Avenue and Jackson Street.

Neighbors who wished to be left unnamed told News 5 that when shots were fired, they heard screaming immediately after.

“Things like, we were just talking to him. It was sad it was very very sad to listen to,” one neighbor said.

Three men were shot in a vehicle parked along 65th Avenue.

All three died from their injuries.

“This is a terrible tragedy that we are investigating as a targeted ambush,” said Sheriff Chip Simmons in the post.

Residents say that the neighborhood is usually pretty quiet.

“It was terrifying,” a neighbor said.
