Target adds Ecolab CEO and Yahoo chief operating officer to its board of directors

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Target Corp. has added two new members to its board of directors.

The retailer said Wednesday that Douglas Baker, Jr., chairman and CEO of water and hygiene company Ecolab Inc., and Henrique De Castro, chief operating officer of Yahoo Inc., have been elected to its board.

Target said the two would bring great organizational, operational and strategic insight to the board.

Baker, 54, is a 24-year veteran at St. Paul, Minn.-based Ecolab. He was named president and CEO in 2004 and chairman in 2006. De Castro, 47, became Yahoo's chief operating officer in November and previously held various senior leadership positions at Google Inc.

Target, based in Minneapolis, operates 1,784 stores in the U.S. and three in Canada, as well as its online business.
