Tampa police searching for suspect in shooting at WestShore Plaza

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Police Department is searching for a suspect after a person was injured in a shooting outside the WestShore Plaza on Wednesday.

TPD said they received calls about a shooting around 2:50 p.m. When authorities arrived at the scene, they did not find a victim.

However, officials said a person showed up at another unknown location with a gunshot wound. The victim’s injuries are non-life-threatening, according to TPD.

The police department said those involved in the shooting know each other, but the suspect has not yet been found.

“The safety of our guests, retailers and employees is our top priority. We are working closely with the Tampa Police Department as they investigate this isolated incident,” a representative for Washington Prime Group, the mall company that owns WestShore Plaza, said in a statement to WFLA.
