Tampa Bay Buccaneers searching for new ‘Captain Fear’ mascot

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — It’s likely a dream job for many Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans. The team is looking for a new performer to suit up as their swashbuckling mascot, Captain Fear.

The Bucs posted a job listing last month, seeking someone to fill the pirate’s boots on a part-time basis.

The listing says the applicant “must be an upbeat, outgoing individual with the ability to interact with all types of people.” It also mentions physical fitness multiple times, as the mascot performs outside at Raymond James Stadium in sweltering conditions… on top of wearing the costume.

The Bucs require previous mascot experience at the collegiate or professional sports level and would prefer the applicant to have a degree.
