Tallapoosa County head-on collision claims the life of Alabama woman; leaves another injured

TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WRBL) – ALEA sadly announced on Wednesday that a two-vehicle crash resulted in the death of an Alabama woman and left another injured.

According to ALEA, the crash happened around 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday and claimed the life of 67-year-old Jeanette Griffin from Jacksons’ Gap, Alabama.

Griffin was fatally injured after the 2007 Toyota Camry she was operating collided head-on with a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by 20-year-old James L. Duckett from Wetumpka, Alabama.

ALEA says Griffin was pronounced dead at the scene and Duckett was taken to the Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, Alabama, for medical treatment.

The crash happened on Alabama 49 near the 33-mile marker, nearly one mile south of Jacksons’ Gap in Tallapoosa County.
