'Talking Cars' Reviews 2017 NY Auto Show Highlights

Consumer Reports' auto experts discuss the key new products from the 2017 New York International Auto Show in this latest episode of "Talking Cars." One of the more intriguing new models is the new Buick Regal. In an unlikely move, Buick replaced the sedan with the Regal Sportback and Regal TourX. The Sportback is an Audi A7-like hatchback, and the TourX is an all-wheel-drive station wagon with rugged styling cues.

Subaru revealed the second generation of the top-rated Crosstrek, based on the new Impreza, as well as the Ascent concept that previews an all-new three-row SUV due out in about a year's time.

Honda made a big splash by adding two new eco-friendly Clarity variants—a full-electric and a plug-in hybrid—to go along with the previously released fuel-cell version. Driving enthusiasts will be happy to see the sporty new Honda Civic Si, too.

For 2018, Ford has completely redone its full-size Expedition SUV, while the New York show was the launching point for the even more luxurious and powerful Lincoln Navigator.

In terms of pure ridiculousness, Dodge unleashed its Challenger SRT Demon. This 840-horsepower monster is basically a street-legal drag racing car.
