Leighton Meester lists her remodeled 1940s single-girl home in the Valley

Gossip Girl-turned-Valley-girl Leighton Meester has just listed her remodeled bachelorette pad in Los Angeles' Encino area.

Meester, an actress and musician who married actor Adam Brody early last year, bought the house in 2011 for $1,457,500. At the time, she was still starring as Blair Waldorf on the hit show "Gossip Girl," but the series ended in 2012.

She poured some of her creative energy into the remodel of her 1948 Encino house. She didn't add onto it, so it's still a relatively modest 2,850 square feet, but she did redecorate and reconfigure it. Perhaps most radically, she turned the front-facing living room into a dining room.

She's hoping to sell the home for almost a million dollars more than she paid for it: She listed it at $2.35 million. It's within walking distance of Ventura Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley.
