(NEW PHOTOS) Jennifer Lawrence buys 'romantic' home that Jessica Simpson sold last year

Jennifer Lawrence just bought herself a pretty house with a pretty fabulous celebrity pedigree in Beverly Hills.
E! Online first reported Lawrence's purchase, and Yahoo Homes has confirmed that the house was purchased through a trust associated with her dad. It sold for $8,225,000, according to the listing agents' websites. That's more than the asking price: It was listed in July for $7.9 million.
Our buddies at Trulia note that the house was owned by Jessica Simpson for almost a decade, up until exactly a year ago.
The flipper -- Sydney Holland, according to the Los Angeles Times and Variety; she's the girlfriend of nonagenarian billionaire Sumner Redstone and a Hollywood producer -- paid Simpson $6.4 million for it in October of last year.
According to the current listing, a "total designer remodel" has ensured a residence "done to the nines" -- a "stunning and romantic estate."
Before Simpson owned it, the house had been home to Ellen DeGeneres, Paul Hogan, Rick Yorn and others, Simpson's property listing said last year.
The house was stuffed with frills and glamour: Shabby Chic maven Rachel Ashwell renovated the place for Simpson. But not much of it survived the "total designer remodel" of the flip, as you'll see the slideshow.
Built in 1991, the home has 5 bedrooms and 6 baths in its 5,500 square feet. The lot size is about 14,000 square feet.
It's in the exclusive gated Hidden Valley Estates -- also home to Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, among others -- so Lawrence shouldn't have to worry too much about looky-loos and paparazzi.
