T-Mobile to give $50,000 to Vince Jetter Community Center

Mar. 23—A $50,000 Hometown Grant from T-Mobile will be presented on Saturday and will go toward restoring and reopening the Vince Jetter Community Center, providing expanded programs and services to underserved youth and families.

Each quarter, T-Mobile awards 25 Hometown Grants to small towns with populations of 50,000 or less.

"We are so grateful for this T-Mobile Hometown Grant, which means we can carry on the dream of our Uncle Buddy, Vince Jetter, who began the community center over 30 years ago," Rachel Jetter, president of Vince Jetter Community Center, said in a news release issued Friday.

"The Vince Jetter Community Center will become a safe, nurturing space where underserved youth will have the opportunity to learn self-care, communication and life coping skills in a supportive, positive environment from understanding guides where they may grow and thrive," she added. "We have goals, dreams and aspirations of providing the light for a brighter community in Clinton. This partnership will serve as a tremendous resource for us to complete renovation of the community center and accomplish our mission and goals!"

T-Mobile will host a check presentation at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at Jefferson Elementary School, 720 4th Ave So.

Through Hometown Grants, people in communities nationwide are kickstarting projects to help their towns thrive. Since launching its five-year commitment to small towns in April 2021, T-Mobile has awarded 275 communities across 46 states and with more than $12 million in total.

T-Mobile's commitment to small towns goes beyond Hometown Grants, with initiatives like Project 10Million, which offers free internet connectivity and mobile hotspots to eligible students to help close the digital divide. Plus, T-Mobile 5G Home Internet and Business Internet give homes and businesses across the country access to reliable and affordable broadband option.
