AT&T may roll out a 100Mbps LTE Advanced network in 2013
Verizon (VZ) soundly beat AT&T (T) to the punch when it came to rolling out LTE across the United States, but AT&T is determined to not get left behind when it comes to the next generation of wireless technology. FierceWireless cites a report from TBR analysts Ken Hyers and Eric Costa, who say that AT&T is planning to start rolling out its LTE Advanced network as early as the second half of 2013. The analysts made these estimates based on “comments AT&T executives made at the company’s Consumer Analyst Conference in Atlanta” last month, FierceWireless says. LTE Advanced is the next iteration of LTE technology that promises to vastly improve mobile data speeds and deliver average downloads at 100Mbps. Sprint (S) has also stated plans to deploy its own LTE Advanced network some time in 2013.
