Senior Fraud Forum at PSECU presented by multiple law agencies

(WHTM)– Thursday’s hometown heroes are teaching others to spot and avoid scams.

Swatara Township police organized a free seminar this morning at PSECU in Susquehanna Township for seniors and caregivers on fraud.

Those taking part in the in-person and virtual event- PA’s Attorney General’s Office, the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office, other police agencies, and financial security with the PSECU.

“The information that was given was very informative,” attendee Linda Alexander said. “Because I was scammed and I thought it was a joke so now I know to be alert.”

“Hopefully people were able to gather strategies and ideas of how better able to protect themselves ideally to prevent loss of money, loss of accounts, loss of identity,” Detective Chris Seiler said.

The event was a joint effort between PSECU, Swatara, and Susquehanna Township Police.
