SUV crashes into retail business after collision on Michigan Avenue

CHICAGO — A vehicle crashed into the front of a building on Michigan Avenue.

The accident happened around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of North Michigan Avenue. According to police, officers responded to reports of a car crash and found multiple vehicles collided in the intersection.

A preliminary investigation found that a male driver traveling in a white SUV southbound on Michigan Avenue disregarded a traffic signal and struck a silver sedan headed westbound on Ontario Street.

Police said the SUV came to a stop after striking the front of a retail business.

The male driver was not injured and refused medical treatment, according to police. The man and woman inside the sedan were transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition with minor injuries.

A third vehicle was struck during the collission, which was occupied by a man who was not injured and also refused medical treatment.
