Suspected thief jumped over glass kiosk in Daly City robbery

(KRON) – Two San Francisco residents were arrested for committing robbery at a shopping center, according to the Daly City Police Department.

Daly City police officers were dispatched to Gold Center at Serramonte Shopping Center around 7:10 p.m. on April 20.

According to police, two Gold Center employees were approached by two subjects at their kiosk. The subject requested to see pendants and a rope chain. According to police, the subject gave the employee $200 for the pendant which was valued at $500. Police said the employees were distracted prior to speaking with the suspects. Once the two diverted their attention to the suspects, a pendant and a rope chain were missing. The two jewelry pieces were worth $2,500 combined.

The subject reportedly slammed his fists against the glass and raised his voice after the employees confronted them. According to police, one of the suspects grabbed the $200 from the second employee’s hand. The employee then moved the suspect’s wallet from the counter to the center island and explained that the suspect’s wallet would not be returned if the jewelry they didn’t receive the jewelry.

According to police, the suspect jumped over the glass and retrieved his wallet from the employee’s hand. The suspects fled the shopping center in a vehicle.

Daly City officers conducted a stop on the car. The suspects were identified as San Francisco residents, a 22-year-old and a 31-year-old. Both suspects were arrested and booked for robbery and conspiracy.
