Suspect wanted after man killed, juvenile injured in Lakewood shooting

DENVER (KDVR) — One person was killed in a double shooting in Lakewood on Tuesday.

Just after 7 p.m., the Lakewood Police Department tweeted that officers were investigating a double shooting near the 1600 block of Kipling Street. Officers said they received a shots fired call at 6:25 p.m.

Officers located two people suffering from gunshot wounds at the home, a fourplex. Lakewood Police said the shooting happened behind the fourplex at one of the back units.

An adult man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a juvenile male was taken to a hospital. Police have not provided an update on his condition as of Wednesday morning.

Lakewood police said the suspect fled in a vehicle, traveling north on Kipling Street. While suspect information has not been released, police said this was an isolated incident.
