URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The man arrested following a SWAT standoff in Urbana on Wednesday was arraigned on five counts in two separate cases Thursday afternoon.

Jacob Hill, 36, appeared remotely in the courtroom of Judge Brett Olmstead to be arraigned. He is charged with domestic battery, stemming from an incident on April 4, and four counts stemming from the standoff: possessing a gun as a felon, possessing a gun as a felon while on parole, burglary and criminal trespassing.

Hill will remain in custody at the Champaign County Jail until a detention hearing takes place on Friday.

In addition, Hill is facing the revocation of probation he received for two prior crimes he pleaded guilty to — unlawfully communicating with a witness and contempt of court. He was sentenced to two years of probation for those crimes; now, because of his new charges, he can be resentenced to prison.

A hearing on his potential probation revocation is scheduled for May 29, while a preliminary hearing on his new charges is scheduled for June 5. Due to prior convictions, Hill is eligible for an increased prison sentence on several of those new charges.
