Suspect nabbed in March near-fatal Manhattan music studio shooting

A 23-year-old man has been nabbed for a near-fatal shooting inside Midtown’s famed Music Building two months ago, cops said Tuesday.

Zykil Adamson was arrested early Tuesday for attempted murder and weapon possession for the March 8 clash inside the building on Eighth Ave. near W. 39th St.

The victim was shot in the head during the 12:45 a.m. fight inside a rehearsal space on the building’s 11th floor. (Theodore Parisienne for New York Daily News)Adamson and two other men were seen fleeing the studio space after the shooting, according to police sources, then spotted talking to people outside a store down the block about 15 minutes later.

It was not immediately disclosed if Adamson is believed to be the triggerman. His two accomplices have not been caught.

Medics rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The Bronx resident has an extensive criminal history with more than two dozen arrests for drugs and robbery, cops said.

Since 1979, the Music Building has rented studio space to musicians 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It’s become a staple of the city’s music scene and superstars including Madonna, Blondie, Billy Idol and Metallica have rehearsed there, according to the company’s website.
